Workshops in Lewiston, Coeur d’Alene cancelled
The Idaho Public Utilities Commission is vacating two
workshops that staff members from the commission were intending to hold in
Lewiston on Feb. 5 and in Coeur d’Alene on Feb. 6.
The workshops were to deal with Avista Utilities’ proposed
pilot program that would allow the utility to disconnect and reconnect power to
customers from a remote location. Customer groups filing comments in the case
requested the workshops be cancelled to allow more time for Avista and the
customer groups to work out issues with the hope of presenting a plan to the
commission that is agreeable to all parties.
The customer groups involved in the case are the Community
Action Partnership of Idaho and AARP Idaho.
Announcements of possible future workshops or a written
comment procedure will be made later as events warrant.
